Seeking Administrative Assistant

We are looking for an Administrative Assistant for our dynamic, forward-thinking, green replace and be trained by our current Business Manager.

The schedule is 5 days per week Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm and some Saturdays, to provide vacations for other staff members.  You are on call every Saturday should a staff member call in sick. This is VERY rare but important to know when considering this position.  Your office will be located in downtown Santa Cruz at 304 Lincoln Street, in the Day Spa.  

This is an amazing position if you are looking to hone existing administrative and management skills. There is immense opportunity for professional growth, as the right candidate will grow into the Business Manager for both the salon and spa.

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly functions of both businesses. This position involves basic human resources, managing the staff and practitioners, as well as responding to client feedback to name a few. The Administrative Assistant is also cross-trained to reception at both locations, to provide daily lunch coverage and additional coverage as needed.

The position is to be filled by late April and has a projected 6-week training period. We will be interviewing starting 2/25.

Salon/spa industry, or related hospitality experience, a PLUS

Responsibilities

Bimonthly payroll for employees and commission practitioners

Calculating monthly retail commission and bonuses

Auditing daily financials

Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records

Supporting staff and practitioners in adhering to company protocols, and disciplining when needed

Drafting and updating policies

Managing time off requests

Placing weekly retail and supply orders

Running a computerized booking/point of sale software program

Ensuring smooth functioning of the spa in absence of the owner (as the office is located in the spa)

Participating in hiring/training/termination process on all levels

Carefully handling confidential and sensitive documents

Managing donation requests

Occasional website maintenance

Receptioning as needed:

Compensation

-$14/hr after training, with expected promotions based on performance

-Monthly salon/spa services (value of $365)

 - When promoted to Business Manager: you will receive a raise, Delta Dental coverage and 1 week paid time off shall start to accrue based on a 40 hour work week.

Seeking Salon Coordinator

The schedule is 4 days per week Tuesday through Friday 9am to 6pm.  We are located in downtown Santa Cruz at 114 Pearl Alley.  

The Salon Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the front desk schedule, client satisfaction, and ensuring smooth functioning of the salon.  Additionally, other responsibilities include ensuring the salon environment is at all times clean, tidy, welcoming, and efficient.  As  coordinator, you are responsible for the guest experience as you are the first and last point of contact the client has with L'Atelier, and are also the first line of contact for problems/issues for clients.

The schedule is Tuesday through Friday from 9-6 with lunch from 1-2.
